Arrest History in Natchitoches Parish

The Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office makes arrests in the parish and operates the detention system. Natchitoches Police Department, Campti Police Department, Provencal Police Department, Northwestern State University Police, and Louisiana State Police can create separate arrest or incident records within their authority. The arresting agency owns its report; the jail owns booking and custody data; the court clerk owns the later case file.

An arrest history is a sequence of reported arrest cycles, not a list of convictions. Each cycle can begin with an agency report, fingerprints, a booking record, charges, bond, and release. Prosecutors may decline, replace, or amend the booked allegations. Start With the Parish Detention Center

For a recent event, use the NPSO inmate interface or call the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center at 318-357-9300. The facility is at 299 Edwina Drive, Natchitoches, LA 71457. A custody entry can appear before the district attorney files a court case, making it the fastest starting point when the arrest was recent.

Do not treat a current roster as a historical archive. Release, transfer, data maintenance, or the passage of time may remove a person from a current-custody view. When no entry appears, continue to the Records Division and the correct court rather than concluding that no arrest occurred.

Recent Arrests and Booking Logs

NPSO’s official jail interface is the available online route for current or recent custody. Its practical value is timing: a booking may be visible while prosecutors are still deciding whether to file a bill of information. Capture the spelling, booking date, arresting agency, listed charges, and booking number, then use those details at the records counter or clerk.

A current roster is not a complete Natchitoches Parish arrest history. Entries can cease to display after release or transfer, older events may not be searchable there, and a citation may not involve detention at all. Absence proves neither that a person was never arrested nor that a case was cleared. Confirm the event through the arresting agency and the outcome through the court.

Requests may be made in person or mailed to NPSO, P.O. Box 266, Natchitoches, LA 71457. The formal request form and fee schedule are scanned PDFs, so their fields should not be inferred. The sheriff’s web information states that inspection during business hours is free. Copies of physical or electronic documents require $1 per page prepayment; video, audio, or other media is $5. Accepted payment is cashier’s check, money order, or company check, not a personal check. Major Chad Nelson is the named public-record custodian.

NPSO also offers a local check at Suite 101, Monday–Friday 9:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. A state-issued ID is required. It costs $15 for two pages or fewer and $3 per additional page, payable by cash or money order. When Another Agency Made the Arrest

The City permits one item per form and posts charges of $25 for data-processing time, $10 per CD, and $1 per black-and-white page. A requested completion date is not guaranteed.

Arrests vs Convictions
